Jason Goodman of advertising agency Albion, which runs campaigns for brands such as Skype, BlackBerry and Innocent, pitches a new High Street British bank:

  1. Name and logo that positions Newbank alongside disruptive new online brands like eBay, Zipcar and Mint.com, that are pioneering non-institutional ways of getting stuff done
  2. All account processing done online. Newbank needs to force the issue, as easyJet did with online ticket booking 10 years ago
  3. Customers and bank share data in a radically transparent way
  4. Transaction data is available to share, remix, and aggregate to help the community make better financial decisions
  5. Branch design is open, casual and clubby, without any of the institutional, authoritarian cues that have dominated
  6. Branches are freed to become hubs for their community of customers and staff to meet each and share experiences around finance – through seminars, group discussions, and networking
