“Don’t be a cheapskate”, Buffett says

In Financial competency, Financial planning on 15/09/2016 at 2:38 pm

The trouble is that there are very few people who knows what is a “wonderful co.” and what is a “fair price”.

So being a cheapskate may be a better option for most of us (self included).

  1. For US companies, I restrict my group of “wonderful” companies to Dividend Aristocrats, with some additionals from Dividend Achievers. Unfortunately these have become expensive over the last 2 years.

As for S’pore co’s, majority are just mediocre. I no longer put new money into S’pore stocks except during end-2008.
